If it's long enough it should be fine. There's no information on gauge, tho, and I suspect it is for 12v.

I just ordered the LW40 for pickup tomorrow and I’ll provide a report.
One of my 51s has a distributor with the insulated post, the other has the wire going through the hole. The latter has a glob of silicone where the wire goes through rather than the rubber plug.

Abe those wires are fine. Just use this:
Actually I did that with my heater motor. It will work fine on distributer wires. Just be sure to pack replacement wires and a small child you can toss under the hood to get back to the distributor and replace it for you. (Well at least for us Y-block owners). Make sure the kid has long skinny fingers as well.
