Hello friends, so sparing you the long boring backstory I'm replacing the crankshaft and my 85 l6 . While I have the engine out I'm replacing lots of things that I don't need to necessarily replace including the clutch . And while removing the connecting rods and pushing them politely out of the way I noticed that four of them give a decent amount of resistance and make a whooshing noise one of them gives less resistance and less of a wishing noise and one of them much less resistance and not much of a whooshing noise . I previously replaced the head gasket on this engine and don't really want to but can take the heads off... I failed to check compression before removing the engine so I'm not exactly sure what's going on but it seems to me that maybe I want to replace the Rings ... But that floppy honing tool at Harbor Freight looks like a nightmare waiting to happen. Should I bother with this or just let it be ? Thanks!
