Last year, ordering a next year model depended on your area.
You should be able to go to Ford’s website and do a online build, and that would be the model your dealer can order. That build sheet you do online means nothing until the dealer orders it.
IMO, if you can’t order the following year in June in your area, you should wait till you can.
I am in central AZ and they seemed to be the last in the country to get to order the following year model. I ordered the current year in June. Wasn’t until August I could prefer the next year model, and others in different parts of the country had already ordered.
My order for the current year model actually rolled over to the following year after six months.
I don’t think the dealer I ordered from was any good, and a different one in town may have done better, but I can only tell you my experiences.
I don’t think Ford has a hard date where they stop making one year and switch to the next on a single day. Seems to be in phases based off where you live.
