There are threads on here dedicated to the waiting. I know, because during my 160 day wait I wrote a lot of stuff in them.
I found having a truck just the way I wanted it was indeed worth the wait.
My carbonized gray metallic 450 took 9 months. Love the truck and the more I read this forum the more thankful I am that I have it. Good luck on your order.
Here's a bright spot among all the reports of a several month wait: 7 1/2 weeks for my new F 350 SRW from order confirmation to delivery.
Regardless, it always seems like a long wait for an ordered vehicle to arrive. In some ways I think the old days were better. Go in, place an order and forget about it until someone called to tell you that your new truck is here. Some seem to torture themselves in the modern day with order tracking, bugging the dealer for VVRs, tracking train and truck movements, etc. I did check Ford's tracker every day, such as it is. But that was the extent of it for me. I never once called the dealer for an update or attempted to find a railcar with my truck on it.
If you don't need a truck, or if you already have a perfectly fine truck that does the job, then I'd imagine it's worth the wait. But if you needed the truck months ago, then I am here to say it's not worth the wait.
I'm in the same boat as you. I ordered a carbonized F-350 Platinum 6.7 4x4 srw cclb last month and I'm patiently waiting. I left the hard-to-get stuff like 5th wheel prep and adaptive steering on because my 2017 had them and I liked / wanted them again. I expected at least a 6 month wait on it and I'm ok with that. I ordered in hopes of getting it in before the recent price increase and having a PCO to use but I missed the price increase deadline. I was wondering about what the 2023 model year would look like and have that may be better or look better. I'm in the position where I don't have a truck now or really need it urgently at this time, so I am watching to see what 2023 brings because I think they will have information out before the 2022 arrives. If the 2023 is deemed much better to me, I can always let the dealer sell the 2022 and lose nothing but a little time and then order again if the price doesn't go too much higher.
I’m at 3 months waiting now still No word on a production day. But I really didn’t think I would and I’m feeling it’s going to be a lot longer with Ford slowing down production. Really starting to think I probably won’t see a 22my.

It will be at least six months before they start building '23's but you are right, it might take them longer than that given even worse production issues than last year.

Here's what I know from my experience.
• Ordered an F-350 7/5/22, changed it to a F-450 on month later in August.
• The beginning of October the dealership placed an order for the exact same trim package in an F-350.
• The beginning of November the dealership was able to change the "priority code" from a 10 to a 2, and two weeks later I was given a build a date that was pushed back twice. That truck was built and delivered the middle of February.
• The F-450 was pushed back 3 separate times (3 months) since getting the VIN. It was literally built last week and is in transit to the dealership after 8 months as I type.
For me personally, none of this mattered after I canceled my order and went with a Ram 3500 that was already in transit back in January.
If this is going to be Ford's new way of doing things then changes are going to have to be made. Their "allocation" and "priority code" system will not work and is currently NOT working for the little dealerships throughout the country. They've turned ordering new Ford Trucks into the "Hunger Games", and people will not put up with this, myself included.
My gut feeling regarding your order, unless something drastically changes in the next couple of months your order will not be built. And from what I read on here from others experiences, Ford will just cancel the order without placing you in a higher queue for the next model year putting you back at square one. I honestly hope I am wrong, but so far nothing they've done or continue to do is proving otherwise.
This is bad for those NEED trucks over those just WANTING new trucks.
Sorry for the rant and good luck to everyone waiting.

If Ford cancels my order or if Ram steps it up and gets the Allison 10 speed deal done. I will stick with Ram. Main reason I was switching to Ford is for the 10 speed.

I understand, albeit it's not a 10spd, the Aisin is an impressive transmission.
I have the Cummins HO and that transmission is standard.
