T18 to 5speed Question
I have a 300 L6 with a T-18 transmission, and I'm looking to swap to a 5 speed. I know that there is a mazda 5 speed that bolts up to the L6. what I don't know is, well several things. First off, is there any difference in bell housing. Also, is there a difference in driveline lenght needed for these two trannys. Also, is the 5 speed compatable with the NP235 transfer case. Thanks for any input.

Yes, that Mazda Tranny can be mounted to your I6. The I6 302 and 351W uses the same bolt pattern. But I wouldn't replace the T18 for the Mazda they don't hold up well. If you want to do a 5spd swap look for the ZF 5spd found in F250 and F350 trucks with I6 to 351W. The Tcase will bolt up to it. As for the rest I have no clue.
