Was curious of the effect of insulating the block, head and pan to retain heat and having a large radiator and oil cooler (both with thermostats). Would this make the engine more efficient? (1994 stock 4.9L EFI 5sp-manual)

NOPE, do some research on dragsters and race cars. Melting an engine is not a good thing. You are saying let's make it really hot then cool it wit a big radiator, they contradict each other. There have been air cooled engines, even V8's.
