Does anyone know where to find replacement drip rails? I did a search here and it didn’t really turn up much for results. NumbersDummy posted some leads way back, but I’m sure they’re gone by now.
I bought replacements from LMC, the only place I could find, but they seem generic. It’s missing the hem on the top and the bottom is just a simple bend. I doubt if I bought the drip rail molding, it would snap on to this generic drip rail. It does seem that everyone sells the drip rail molding, just not the actual drip rail or roof repair channel.
I doubt much help, but I have seen guys that shaved the drip rail, then after paint was cured, etc ..... used the drip rail that GM used in the '70s like '73 up.
I think...think that Dennis Carpenter does sell it or at least the mouldings. I remember a old thread that showed all the work into replacing them. Looking now for that threrad.
Looks like what you have there Hertz is doable, although generic. I ended up buying a donor cab only. Drip rails seemed good enough. Been robbing sheet metal from it ever since lol. Only cost me three hundred bucks, I thought it was well worth it.
It looks like I may have to just use the stuff I bought from LMC. I’ll have to buy one more super cab drip rail to do the other side. I bought the super cab size thinking I could get both sides out of it, but since I also have to make the bend and do the vertical, It won’t be enough. Even if I could re-use the bent piece, it won’t match the new one. I bought it a while ago before I really got into it. I’ll have to see how bad I butcher this piece before I order more lol.
I also came across this thread, but I don’t have those kind of skills, or a metal break.
