Not another door ajar thread…

Found some bad jamb switches, replaced them… the last culprit is the driver door…

my understanding of the system is this;
the jamb switches operate in a normally closed electrical logic. Testing the jamb switches confirms this. Depressing the plunger opens the circuit.
removing the switch from the latch assembly, the plunger is out and the truck thinks the door is closed. Closed circuit.
depressing the plunger opens the circuit and the door ajar light comes on. Black ground wire has good continuity to ground, and the signal line is not shorted to ground. There is no switch produced, that I can find that operates in the required logic, IF , when the door is closed the latch assembly depresses the plunger… should the latch assembly depress the plunger with the door open and release when shut? The latch assembly logic is the only detail I don’t really have access to.

anyone else have a GEM module that looks for continuity at the driver door only? All other doors are now functional with the standard jamb switches.

The part number to reference to replace the door latch with the correct variation is 6C3Z-2521813-A. The door ajar switch logic is reversed in early years, 2001, some 2002 models year trucks.
If you have a 2003 and up, the truck is looking for the driver door to complete the circuit when closed. This latch part number provides the mechanism for the switch to accomplish that.
Early door latches do not, they complete the circuit when the door is open.
