I was cruisin the GM-Trucks.com stie and lookwhat I found a chevy V-12.... I wonder what Ford is going to do in response to this... I thought they would come out with something to go against the 8.1L gas , but have yet to see anything. Well they are upping the bar thats a good thing that means we are going to get some serious engines in the future hopfully not too far..

GM-Trucks.com has recieved this new and exciting picture of the 2004 Chevrolet Colorado!
It appears that the picture was taken inside one of GM's proving ground garages, but we are not sure of the exact location. Wherever it was taken, it surely was not intended to make it to the public, so enjoy!

[updated:LAST EDITED ON 13-Dec-02 AT 05:49 PM (EST)]Further reading shows the V12 as only being used for Caddy, also the motor is all aluminum, dont know how i would like an aluminum block in a truck. Seems for whatever reason GM doesnt seem to think its fit for their trucks either.

GM will begin producing an all-new V-12 engine - the first V-12 in GM's lineup in more than 60 years. The 7.5-liter V-12, with significantly more than 500 horsepower (373 kW), will debut in future Cadillac vehicles. V-12 applications could include several vehicles currently in or planned for the Cadillac lineup.
The all-aluminum V-12 will deliver aggressive performance with exceptionally smooth operation utilizing a high-output, dual overhead camshaft, and four-valve design, yet still meet the packaging requirements of a V-8.
On edit: I do notice they say it will "debut" in Caddys, I dunno maybe it will make its way to their truck market, but doesnt it seem there should be more horse than 500plus out of a V12? Either way the motor sounds interesting but so is whats wrapped around your motor is also important.

I assumed that it was going in a truck because the artical seemed to be about the truck picture it was below.
I agree no way do I want an aluminium block in my truck I like fat cast, I'm not a fan of alu. heads either...
