47 Ford truck hinges

47 Ford truck hinges
Today I noticed that the hinges on my passenger door are super sloppy and the door is sagging. Has anyone replaced the hinges or know if the 1948 Ford truck hinges will work on the 1947?

Hinge pins are the same on the '48 hinges, but I believe the hinge bodies differ from the '42-'47 hinges. I'm not near my book, so can't confirm that.
Replacement hinge pins are available from several different sources.

Using the pin pusher tool makes the job fairly easy when the running boards are in place. If the boards are off, a drift will work to get the pins out. Oversize pins are also available if the hinges are badly worn. Good luck!

Really wish it was just the pins but it seems like a weld possibly is bad on the door side. I am not sure how it is all held together besides the rivets. I can wiggle the door and see there is a gap between the door and where the hinge meets

It’s common I think to find the lower hinge area damaged on these early trucks. Above is a HAMB thread where a guy repaired the inner support for the hinge. Stu
