low fuel pressure.
1996 7.3 392,000 miles, loss of power climbing hill, no mods. 10 psi fuel pressure. Swapped pump. Still 10 psi. Pulled fuel regulator/spring from parts 7.3, and noticed that fuel plunger was different shape. The spare had square corners, but the failed plunger corners were rounded. Tried putting spare plunger/spring into original regulator housing and still 10 PSI (suspect rounded plunger must have had worn the regulator housing seat). However, I swapped the entire filter housing with the spare, and put the square corner plunger (spare), and now 50PSI. Found many threads that described 10psi condition, but no resolutions. Quick check is to disconnect high pressure return lines and remove schrader valve and blow into return line connection point and no resistance.
