Looking at the data plate, under the trans code is C. then a space, then 88, then we are under the axle code, N So, it looks like this, C 88 N. 79 f800 with big gas motor. Wondering what trans is in it, thank you. VIN. S80JVFF1548

Thank you. I don't own the truck yet, its listed on Al Gores interweb. The seller says " 5&2 transmission". yet, photos show an air shift fuller spliter, and not the usual red **** of a electric 2 speed rear, so I guessed a 10 speed fuller, but which one? Also, its tandem axle.
The point of my inquiry is I'm looking for one of those "baby" 10 speeds. An RTO 6610 would be better than sex, a RTO 610 next, and any RT can be made into an overdrive with more money. Thanks for the info
Just find a RTO9513 and forget about a 10 speed
95 series was available with the smaller input shaft that would work with a 66 series clutch
RTO9513 gives you a lower low gear than the 10 speed and OD too
We pulled the RT 6613 out of my friends LT8000 and swapped in the RTO9513, one of the best improvements we did to that truck
I love 13 speeds, but too heavy and big for this project, 64 f350, 5.9 cummins. Even the 613 gains 200 lbs by adding the back section for the 13.
I find rt 610's, but RTO's are scarce. I would like the newer 6610 if possible as I wonder if 610 parts are getting obsolete.
An RT 6610 only weighs 359 lbs, just a few pounds more than the Getrag on it now. The RT 610 weighs 425, from the fuller web sight, why would it be heavier, any idea?

Not cheap but a ZF6 would be my choice for that app
I’m running a ZF6 in my 12v powered F-450 tow rig and it’s been working really well towing loads grossing up to 30k lbs but normal average is lower at 24k lbs
Yes, the ZF6 has high praise among users. I've never seen one for sale, although I've not been searching for that. I have an F800, 5.9 with a fuller 6 speed, thats not a bad trans either, but being an old truck driver I like shifting without the clutch. One thing I've learned from driving an old diesel Dodge Getrag for 15 years is that 5 gears ain't enough!
Update for entertainment, The truck was at an auction. I drove up to verify the trans, and yes, an RT610. Its 200 miles from home, so I asked the auctioneer if there was a scrap guy nearby so I could just drive it over and pull my tranny and scrap the rest. He said, best thing would be to pull the trans on his lot, and he would resell the truck with no trans. I could not believe they would allow that in this modern world, but thats what I did.
Started at 9am, put a sheet of plywood across the roof, a couple big straps twisted together around the roof to hang a com-a-long from, dropped it down on a sheet of tin and drug it out with my pickup. They loaded it in my truck about 2pm, and home by dinner!
So, I won the truck for 775.00, pulled the trans, they auctioned it again, it sold for 650.00! So, after commission, I got my baby 10 speed for about 175.00. The oil in it still has some color, shift tower seems firm, but have'nt had a look inside yet. Fingers crossed. Need overdrive gears now
