Tow Mirror Help
Hello, I need some help with my passenger tow mirror for my 22 Lariat. It hyper extends when automatically opening. Things I’ve tried are reset the mirror, checked the fuses, disconnected the battery, lubricated the pivot points. It has to manually be pushed back in place. It also doesn’t lock in place. I took it apart but couldn’t find any issues. The puddle lamp also doesn’t work. Any help would be appreciated.

When you say "hyper extends" you mean it telescopes out? My Lariat power fold and power telescoping. If this happened on mine, I'd guess there's a short or wiring glitch that's activating the telescope when I hit the power fold switch.

I've had mine get out of sync when I run it through the car wash which will force it closed. I can re-sync by cycling closed and then back open. You could try that instead of manually folding it to where it should be when it overshoots the normal open position.
