Grille Guard

Fellas, show off some pics of your f150 with a grille guard, and give some specs on the model and brand.

Looking for one and want to see if anything stands out.

This is a Ranch Hand, I've had a couple seem well built. The only others that I have used have been Westin also well built. I chose the Ranch hand this time because Westin eliminated the tow hooks at least in early 23. Pay attention to sensors and cameras that you may have, when I bought mine there wasn't a big selection available because of them. That may be better now I haven't kept up. Install was pretty easy but I've done a few so knew what to expect. Jim

Looks good. Did you have to relocate any sensors ?

Very nice! The Ranch Hand Legend Series Grille Guard is a sharp look on the F150. I do believe for most models it retains the front sensors.

I used to work for Ranch Hand back in the 90s. They are still made in Texas, and still largely made by hand, not robots. They will outlast the truck. The paint will wear off of it before anything else. If you live in an area that gets a lot of salt or sand spread, you may start to see some wear in the finish after a few years. They are powder coated at the factory. Back in the 90s, we used to touch them up with with Rustoleum. We also had customers who would order them custom painted to match the truck, and they hold that finesh well. The grille guard is also fairly heavy, it's all welded in one piece, not a put together item that comes in a flat box. Buy it locally to avoid damage to the finish from shipping companies.

The Westin HDX looks good, has a similar profile to the Ranch Hand, weighs a little less, not as robust. Frontier Gear also has a good, fully welded product, started buy guys who used to work for Ranch Hand, but didn't want to relocate when the company got bought.

I would avoid chrome at all costs, it will rust. Anything bolt together is more for looks than anything else, and the prices are too high for what you actually get in a box that comes from China and requires assembly.
