I have a 96 F250 PSD and i was considering putting a body lift on it. but the body lift stores have told me that it is not reccomended on diesels because it will block the air intake. Is this true????
yes, you can put bigger tires, yes it will make a difference. Not always a good one, but a difference. I dont know about a 8" for the superduties, but a 6" for our body style is about $700
I put a 3" body lift on my '96 because I neededthe room for my twin turbos. If you're looking to add bigger tires for off road fun, go with the suspension lift. I would never put a body lift on a truck that was seeing off road twisting etc. Mine is a performance truck, track/strip. If you really want to go with a body lift, just get the kit for your year and style (like F-350) but get the gasser version. The only problem is the bottom of the fan shroud needed to be trimmed becasue as you raise the radiator, the fan becomes lower and would hit.
FYI, I don't even run a fan or shroud anymore. Just don't need it.
Like DZ said, the body lift will work for the older body style if thats the use you are goin for...
But if you are wanting to body lift a superduty diesel, the fan shroud will not be the only mod needed, as the intercooloer tubes will need to be modified for the change in the intercooloers location. just fyi
