I have a 96 EB F-150 and the wipers will not mist the windshield. When I press in the button the wipers run but there is no mist. I hooked the pump direct to a battery and it works fine. Any ideas?? The reservoir is full by the way.
Also, no mist will come out of the passenger side. It doesnt appear to be blocked. I attempted to remove the cowling to see if the hose is still connected but that thing won't budge on me. Any advice on removing the cowling?? Thanks.
It's either the MFS or the WCM (wiper control module) which is behind the gove box. It has a 14-position connector with 2 empty positions, both on the same side of the lock button; one on the top row & one on bottom. The wires in the 4 corners are Wh, DkBu/Or, Or, & DkBu/Wh. I think it's attached to the bottom of the far R ventilation duct, and you can get to it by folding the glove box all the way down (so it dumps on the floor).
If the pump circuit is good, unplug the connector and see if the Br/Wh becomes a dead short to the DkBu/Wh when you press the button. If not, the Multi-Function Switch (MFS) is bad. If it does, the WCM is bad.
