Spare Tire Replace?
Greetings, I just bought a 2019 F150 XLT with 56000 miles.
I plan on new tires soon. Knowing that tires have date codes to track the age of the rubber, and that most tire shops want to replace tires around 10 years old, when or do you replace your spare tire?

Unless you plan to do a 5 tire rotation, I'd say it would be good to keep for a few more years, unless there are dry rot cracks in the tire. My spare is 10 years old, but it looks great. It's on a non matching steel wheel, so I would only use it for a couple hundred miles at most if I needed it.

Being mounted under the truck the spare isn't exposed to sunlight and UV radiation which is one of the major causes of tire degradation. This extends the life of the spare. Mine is 10 years old and looks good.

Many people would only use the spare to limp to next town, or for a few days at most. if that's you, keeping the older spare is very reasonable. If you want your spare to have full capacity and life as any other tire, you shoudl replace more often.
