Need some help . Has anyone ever had there truck make a noise like binding or clonking when you turn the wheels right of left while still cold and moving slow .. just went out for lunch and my truck started acting up . thought it might be a bearing at first or brakes not releasing but sounded like more .. like maybe trying ot go into 4x4 or maybe drive shaft u joint .. any ideas otherwise it is off to dealer . It is a 1996 B4000 4x4 standard ..
I had this happen on occasion BEFORE I disposed of those darn auto hubs. What seemed to be happening was that one would release and the other one would not. You might try backing up 60' or so with the 4X4 disengaged to release it.
I assume, of course, there is no snow/ice hiding in the wheelwell somewhere causing this............it really does happen sometimes but I guessed you checked for that already.
I went out after work last night and backed it up and also put 4 wheel high on and then off again and it seemed fine .. but came back latter ofter I had parked it for a while and then went out again .. so I backed it up again and turned 4 wheel on and off again and it cleared up again .. guess its time for new hubs .. thanks guys ..
