I got the cargo coils for my 92 f20 2wd and the washer doesn’t seem to seat the coil like it did on the old coil. I see a lot of others have used it idk what I’m doing wrong
Also not sure if this is the correct insulator. Could use some help fellas

It just doesn’t seem to make as much contact almost like it could pop through idk it’s my first truck man. I guess once it’s all bolted up n sitting on tires it isn’t going anywhere huh? And that looks like the correct insulator? Can’t believe I got a reply so quick thank you man

No. It won’t go anywhere. I suppose it is. It’s the right shape anyway. What is wrong with the old one?

Those are some stiff springs. I hope you have a big block or diesel.

the old insulator was mostly gone and one spring rusted n broke hitting a bump. I got the 351, the springs were free so i figured why not. Do you think it’ll be to much? I also mainly haul n tow with the truck it’s not a daily

You don’t haul and tow things on the hood. Put them in and see what you think. I put them in my F-150 to support the plow.

a bit harsh but true. I have a plow as well, but it’s no longer winter so it’s currently not on

Before they used that plastic, they used tire rubber
Way back in the 70's there was only rubber below the spring seat
Right, those Cargo Coils do not fit well, and I will not run them on mine, but have fun
You have few options these days for new springs

I have smashed the lower washer flatter before to get better spring contact. It will reshape itself again when you torque down the big nut.

I can't remember if I have a lower isolator installed currently. I did buy one that didn't fit at some point. Maybe the same one you have there, I can't remember but I do recall a fitment problem. If I have one it's the original black more rubbery version.

The springs work well enough for a firm/supportive ride on road. Too short and stiff for much off-road. Hard to argue with free if you're just trying to keep the truck up and running.

Wow, if your springs rusted through, how's your frame?

I just did mine, it will be fine. I too thought those washers weren’t quite big enough, but the springs will hold just fine. get a big bar to tighten that nut, it’s a high torque item.

the frame is sound besides the tranny cross member and rad support. Got them yesterday from the junkyard though. Then sandblasted n primed. Working on getting the frame descaled n coated also, then on to a little body work.

I wouldn’t consider 70-100 FT-LB high torque

or were you talking about the through bolt for the radius arm?
