I need some help to locate a nice set of Ford bed rails.

The kind I'm looking for are from Ford. You could buy them from Ford for the early 70's trucks thru mid 90's. I'll try to describe them:
1. Each side has a long rail that seems to be aluminum. It sits on three "pedestals" which are mounted in the stake holes in the bed.
2. The inboard side of each rail has a channel that typically has 3 or 4 sliding pieces that you can tie stuff to.
3. The rail sits on the middle pedestal and slides into each end where it is fastened.
4. The pedestals are chrome or aluminum color also.

 

Anyone?

I can also search via the internet, ALL the US Ford dealers parts inventories for a specific type that may be OBSOLETE, or not. I can also search obsolete Ford parts sellers sites.

AFAIK, you are the only member on this site that can post illustrations from the 1973/79 Ford Light Truck Parts Catalog.

I can't because I'm using this catalog (and all the others from 1980 up) on FoMoCo microfiche slides.

Bill...you're welcome on the illustration posting. I would think anyone with a scanner and a paper parts book could post them as well.

You mentioned you can search dealer inventories for parts? I have a set of these bed rails, but are missing some of the plastic "pads" or gaskets that go between the supports and the bed rail itself. Any way of finding if there are any available anywhere?

The 73/79 parts catalog: there are at least 3 other ppl that have the CD scanned version here on FTE, but AFAIK, none have posted any illustrations from it.

Searching for parts (obsolete or otherwise) for ppl here on FTE is SOP for me.

Which rails do you have, the 1973/79 variety?

Dennis Carpenter also has these bed rails listed. They have a set for short box and another for long box trucks. The only thing is, they list the same rails shown in the above illustration for all 1973 - 1989 applications. Does anyone know if there is any difference to the numbers NumberDummy gave? What I mean is, is the newer part numbers from Ford just newer part numbers that superseded the older numbers, or did Ford actually change the rails over the years? I noticed that the ones on my 1985 F150 look exactly like the ones that are on a 1987 model.

Oh you mean these? I have a couple of OEM sets.....and they even have the plastic ***** that loosen up and slide adjust back and forth in the back side of the rail.
