Hi all
94 f150 5.0 recently had a new radiator installed and was checking the coolant level to see if it was staying full . Topped it off a couple weeks ago and have not driven it since but when I turned the radiator cap coolant sprayed out . What could be causing this on a cold engine . Thanks!

I would start by verifying the radiator cap is the correct pressure rating and is functioning properly. A faulty cap can trap pressure instead of venting it to the overflow reservoir. Also check that the overflow hose and reservoir are clear and not blocked.
Since the radiator was recently replaced, trapped air in the cooling system is another very common cause. Air pockets can expand and create pressure even on a cold engine if the system wasn’t properly burped.
I was thinking it might be air. I parked it on a hill and squeezed the top hose until I didn’t see any bubbles. The level dropped some and after running for a few min I removed the cap and didn’t have any issues
