I have a '52 F1. I have located the truck's serial number stamped in the frame, the data plate in the the glove box (dispatch box) that match. Also located numbers/letters stamped into the firewall.
The question isid the 239 flat head eight engines have a serial number.
Or is there some method to determine if the engine is original or when it may have been manufactured?
For our trucks, Ford didn't stamp identification numbers on the engines. There's no way to determine the original engine with any certainty. Back then, engines were routinely swapped with a reman after about 60,000 miles. After the second engine was used up, so was the car/truck and it was typically parked in the back 40 or scrapped if they couldn't find a dealer to give them $25 in trade.
