Fuel lift Pump

What’s everyone’s experience with replacement Mechanical Lift Pumps? I have a 95 International 4700 with the T444E. Uses the same pump as a 7.3L Powerstroke. I replaced the original 320,000 mile pump about 2 years ago with a Napa pump. The Napa pump quit today with less than 10,000 miles on it. They have a “lifetime” warranty. Are the OEM Ford pumps any better. Wouldn’t care so much about the warranty if there’s something out there that will last like it should.

I read on this forum years ago that all lift pumps for these trucks were made by Carter, regardless of what brand they are. I don't know who builds them today, probably someone in China.

Carter seems right, that is what I slapped in mine when I ran mechanical fuel and I oft use their pumps as available. No issues with it, just was sick of all the small leaks after a while.

Cannot recommend an electric fuel conversion enough, but that is on you if you want the leap. It has been proven to do all things better.

Do you know what brand of pump you’re using?

How’s it held up? I exchanged the Napa one for another. But am strongly questioning its reliability. The guy at the counter claims they’re made by Spectra. Says he normally sells Delphi pumps but would have to order it and it wouldn’t warranty replace the one I had. Said he “Don’t Think it matters” on what you order for reliability. Got the impression they must all be junk. If I could find a mechanical pump that would hold up like the original I would have no issues with using one. If Motorcraft or International pump is the answer I’ll go that route. If not it sounds like E fuel is the answer, trying to prevent being broke down somewhere over a piece of ***** fuel pump.

It's only been in for a couple of months. I am now saving for e-fuel as my fuel bowl has begun leaking again after rebuilding it about 5 years ago.

Efuel is definitely the best option to increase reliability
