I'm upgrading my 55 F100 for PCV valve to replace downdraft tube, and I've got two questions. How complicated is it to change studs in intake manifold to be longer, to support carb spacer? I'm hoping just Mapp gas heating and removing with vise grips, then double-nut the new one and crank it in. Other question is whether or not to use RTV on valley cover gasket as well as intake manifold gasket. I guess I got a question on torque of valley cover screws too, because it looks like they could easily be over-tightened to damage the valley cover. I think the torque spec for intake manifold is in service manual, but I don't remember seeing torque spec for valley cover. Should threadlock be used on screws? Okay, more than 2 questions.
Here's list of parts I'm using, for a 3-bolt Holley 2100 2bbl carburetor. Intake manifold is casting number ECW9425-A. And I'm just modifying existing valley cover with 1.25" grommet hole at rear right for PCV.
