1950 F1 Tall Available Tire P235 85 R16

Will a LT235/85R16 fit front and rear on a 1950 ½-ton?

That tire is roughly 31–32” tall and about 9.25” wide. From what I can tell it isn’t much taller than the factory 6.50×16 bias ply tires these trucks came with.

It looks like it should fit height-wise and the width is still reasonable for the wheel wells.

I’m mainly considering that size because it’s a common truck tire and easy to find locally if I need replacements the same day.
I can get this tire in a highway tread same day at Discount tire, if I buy the truck I will need quick and readily available.

Tire size is also dependent on your rim size. If you're using the stock 16x4.5 rims, I don't think a 235-85R16 will fit well on them. That's really a 3/4 ton truck size, more equivalent to a 7.50x16, and probably would be better on a 6 or 7 inch wide rim. I think you'll find a 6.00x16 tire is closer to 27" tall. Mine are, and the 235-85R16's on my 87 F250 are 31" tall. (Or maybe 32 when they were new.) A 195-75R16 looks to be a much closer fit and appears readily available with several options, too. https://www.discounttire.com/fitment...uct-code-37533

I'm running 6:50X16 tires on an F1, The tires are just shy of 30 inches tall. I like how they fill the wheel well. In my experience, bias tires aren't readily available out on the road, in a pinch, I had to buy a radial as a spare to get me home. Good luck and welcome back.
