i get my fuel delivered because of living in the back woods and have been using stabil in the gas to help it not go bad,, should i be using anything in my diesel, i get 500 gallons of each usally once a year. just want to be safe and not ruin a storage tank full.
I just asked Sta-Bil this very question. I run Sta-Bil in all my gassers (I collect old cars) and it works great. Keeps the fuel useable for 2 years. I was not sure about diesel.
The Sta-Bil guy told me that you can use Sta-Bil in diesel too and it is compatible with other fuel additives.
But . .
You do need a biocide. Sta-Bil makes a special diesel formula that has the fuel stabilizer in it and a biocide.
There is also stuff called PRI-D which is a diesel fuel stabilizer. PRI makes a biocide too.
