warn hub question

I just got some Warn hubs for my 68. I looked over the instructions but they don't mention the big spring in the stock setup. I'm referring to the one that goes on outside of the locknuts. It would seem to me that you would use this spring. Anyone know anything?

The spring is not used with the warn hubs. Toss it.
