Watched that. A guy posted in the comments that he was a retired diesel mechanic and said that damage was most likely caused by a glow plug breaking off.

if you read down further, several posts said this year had a known issues with valves cracking on high milers. If you look at the valve, it kinda looks like that is exactly what happened. I highly doubt this was a glow plug.
