I just purchased a 1987 F-350 with a Holmes 440 wrecker bed. My plans are to restore it cosmetically and mechanically. I JUST purchased the truck and it won't even be in my driveway for about another 2 1/2 weeks. However when I was looking it over today, someone had mounted a radar detector and two screw holes thru the plastic dash for a total of three. One is rather large for the power cord to come thru. Of course it's coming out and then I'm left with three holes without knowing if it's possible or even feasible to repair it. Or is replacing the dash assembly the only known way to acceptably make this happen? I would imagine that removing and replacing the dash would be a near nightmare. I had done it twice on two separate Chevrolet trucks and I can't imagine this being any easier. In the interior picture, it can just barely be seen over the steering wheel.
It is just a miserable job as a chevy is.
I would try filling the holes with hot plastic and color match. It may not turn out perfect, but it would be better than three holes

That would be a good start. If the result isn’t acceptable then any ‘87-91 dash could be swapped in.
My dash had a couple cracks on the passenger side so when I had the cab torn apart for rust repair I picked up a used dash to replace it. The job wasn’t terrible but not fun either.
