A prime example of, if you can't do your own work, you don't need a project vehicle. It appears that it has the wrong carburetor connected to a Load-O-Matic distributor. That would account for the poor running engine. But if it sells for close to the current price it is certainly worth that.
Typically on a driver things look lopsided as far as money spent goes since running, driving, stopping is usually first priority. But seriously, nearly $6k for a carb and a gas tank? Either the invoice is fake or shop should be ashamed. Maybe both as truck still doesn't run right. They "upgraded" to power discs and kept the crusty old master?? No way of knowing what the current owner's purchase price was but if that invoice is any indication of his IQ, he's in a hole deeper than we can imagine. Hows that saying go? There's only 1 thing worse than stupid people....
Wrong carb, new gas tank resting on seat belt bolts, two fuel filters and rubber fuel hose ran clear over the engine. Yea, the mechanic should be smacked repeatedly.... Shoddy work!
Yeah, Bring A Trailer, for sure. Bring a can of flat black paint for the ugly tires too. B.A.T. site used to be for true "barn find" kind of veh's, not so much anymore. Sigh.

That caught my eye immediately, all that rubber fuel hose and two filters, SMH. After all that work and money it still doesn't run right? Owner got screwed.
We have a shop, our labor rate is $100/hr, and we usually mark up parts that we source to cover our time of sourcing them. You always run into issues that take longer than expected so the total comes out higher than you'd think. But $9 per spark plug, , $25 for brake fluid, $10.65 per quart of oil (not even synthetic), $200 for a used carb core when the one on it is clearly a new casting, $40 for a pcv valvem etc is just straight up robbery. At least they didn't charge any labor to install the set of $3300 wheels and tires. The wheels alone were marked up ~$800 compared to what they sell on Summit for. Crazy.

That's a new dual circuit master cylinder, if they're not painted that's how they look within a few months. Cast iron rusts fast. The new one I put on my truck looked like that very soon after installing it.

I keep forgetting AZ ain't like the rest of the world. Installed mine over 5 yrs ago when I did the disc swap and looks practically the same as it did back then.

AZ is crazy good at preserving metal. I have an '88 Festiva that was a life-long Phoenix car with 56k miles on it when I got it a few years ago. It literally looks like new underneath just by cleaning it. The strut itself is the only thing not original in the pics, it was blown so I sourced a NOS strut. The spring is the original one with paint marking still showing, and a lot of the hardware still has red inspection marking on the bolt heads.
