Ok, I have this little problem. My 1990 ford truck (302 engine) is overheating. It only overheats when you take it on a long streatch about 10-20 miles. It doesn't overheat when driving in town or sitting and idling for hours.
Now I've replaced the thermostat, put in a brand new Radiator, and a new cluch fan. I am getting enough air flow (no dirt plugging the airway). I do though have white oil on the inside of my oil cap (would give me the thought of a head gasket) but nothing in my oil. I was told that white oil is just from condisation. I've done a rad compression, and I don't lose any pressure. Would an leaking intake or Plenuim cause an overheat? Any Suggestions?
you know im not sure but your water pump may be pulling one of those tricks where it only works on certin conditions.. now i havent had a water pump to do that on me but a lot of things can do that. so it is possible that it wont work when your at highway speeds? weird stuff like that can happen! you might want to check it out
