2006 F350 5.4l Auto SRW. Packrat built a nest between engine and firewall. Started on fire. Melted engine wiring harness and upper air intake manifold. Truck originated in California. Unable to find a harness in California. Plan to use one from here in Kansas. Concerned over the different emission standards. I have a couple of questions.
From my research the upper and lower oxygen sensors are the same for Cali and Fed.?
If they are the same sensors, the ECU, engine control unit, will be looking for different readings?
Different readings will trigger the CEL. Can this be avoided by changing the ECU to a local one?
Is there a potential problem I have overlooked?
