look on https://www.gruvenparts.com/. They have walk-through images and some videos. I purchased replace motors from them. Its was complicated disassembly and somewhere along the way I did something to the wiring harness. Anyway they are good people at gruven.
You can also just give the mirror a good push to fold it or retract is. This will engage the grears. Do this at your own risk. They are plastic while the gruven replacement parts are metal.

Thanks, I have contacted Gruven and the pdf instructions are not that clear. Folding is not the problem, I did try the push hard back and nothing. I can hear the a little noise from the motor when I push the switch.

Well I tried again to push and pull hard on the telescoping mirror, no luck. Then I tried to just hit it hard while pushing the button switch at the same time. Did this to force it in and out. It decided to start working, so just beat the h*ll out of it. I may buy the metal gear kit from Gruven.com, the motor seems to be fine.
