Blinker not working

My blinkers stopped working suddenly the other day and I can't figure out what is wrong. The hazards work, but the dash light doesn't blink unless I have the switch pulled out a very specific amount, but when the dash light starts blinking for the hazards, ONLY the front left blinker stops blinking.

I tried bypassing the hazards entirely and just connecting the plug from the steering wheel directly to the blinker socket, but that didn't work, and I don't know if the wire coming from the ignition switch going the the hazards plug but not the blinker has anything to do with it. I'm waiting for a new blinker cam to arrive to see if it's that, but the thing with the hazards has me wondering if it's something else.

Does anyone have an idea of what it could be?

Sounds like possibly some oxidation in the hazard switch contacts or it is failing internally. The turn signal cam only has to do with holding the lever in the on position and then cancelling the turn signals when you steer back to center. The cam is a bit sensitive/tricky to install but well worth it. If the cam is broken it can be a sign of an older switch and may just be due to replace the whole thing. Could be some oxidation in the turn signal switch contacts as well.

I did try unplugging the hazards and plugging the regular plugs together without it, but it still didn't do anything, so it might be the switch itself.
