2024 tremor 3.5 .... besides oil change every 3000 miles, what else do ya'll recommend so i can pass truck to my kids? Had a 2001 f250 7.3 until a tweaker put me in a ditch. Lots of knowledge here.
I hate to say it, but I don't see modern vehicles being something you can pass down to your children. Once you lose the availability of a computer, your vehicle is a bricked piece of junk. It's not like old F100's that you can swap parts around on, rather, any change you make to your truck requires programming to accept. I ran a fleet of F150's and you would be surprised the amount of things that don't work right if you do something as simple as changing out a seat without the dealer programming it. Will the aftermarket step up? Probably for most things, but will they have a computer for the cooling and heating seats, or the defroster, or to turn on the lights in the bed? Hard to say. There were many stupid things that kept us from keeping our trucks around, all of which were wickedly expensive and were not justifiable for keeping a vehicle around. The 10 speed transmission? I hope it makes it 50,000 miles, as it isn't sounding so good at 28,000 miles.
My toy is a 2020 Jeep Wrangler that I want to keep nice and enjoy as long as I can, but I don't see it passing down to my kids. Will it be around for 15-20 years,? Probably, but that is about as long as we may see it last. 10 years past the life of the model (JL in the case of my Jeep) is the reality of all it may be around for.
