c6 shifter linkage setup?

I have an '86 bronco 302 that had an aod that went bad. I bought a used c6 and have it already in the truck, the only thing I need help on now is the damn shifter linkage. The c6 came out of a '94 f-250 so the shifter bracket on the tranny is different then the aod so I have to either fabricate something or maybe get something from the local junkyard. Does anybody know if the '94 f-250 was shifted using a cable or what?

Thanks,
Dan

have a cable?

The '94 F150 has a shift cable, and I was recently wrestling with mine. I was readjusting it, and discovered that my "friends" down at the Haynes (close enough - nobody reads this stuff anyway) book suppository told me all wrong. They said to move the shift lever all the way to the rear, and then move it 2 clicks forward to put the tranny in D for drag. It turns out that the transmission they were talking about had a shift lever that aimed UP, while the one I was working on (and they were supposedly describing) had a lever that aimed DOWN, which meant the pattern was reversed from their description. After that, it was a piece of cake.

I think a cable is the way to go, especially off road.
