Torsion Bars

How many turns can I get out of my torsion bars before I will have to worry about getting the truck realigned?

Hi nwtfox and welcome to FTE

If you go by the book, anytime you change the ride height of a vehicle you should get the alignment checked. Realistically you can probably jack a few turns into it without changing the alignment. Like Brian said, cranking them up the whole way isnt a good idea.

I had a GMC Sanoma 95, it had torsion bars on the front. the front drive universal joints started banging when I jacked it up.

From my experience with adjusting the "T" bars, if your trying to level the truck out, that's enough to have to get the front end aligned.
It's not that you'll go veering off the road if you don't align it. The only thing is your tires will wear out .
My suggestion is, if you can avoid tightening the "T" bars you should, the ride is terrible. You may look cool but...

NWT Fox, yeah, you could get 8 turns out of them. But i've put mine back down some since I leveled my 7700. The ride was alittle bouncy as it ran out of down travel. With it lowered back some its seems to be better.

I got mine turned 4 times. It is not quite level but it is close. I can notice a slight difference in handling and have not had the alingment checked. When I buy new tires, I will have it checked then.
