Question heater fan switch

Ive got a 78 f150. The fan switch is not operating. It was for about 5 mins after driving, it(the fan)stopped blowing. I was moving the switch up and down and nothing. I see that I have to take das damn near apart. Any help?

If you have to take your dash all apart to get at the switch, then I would make sure it is definately the switch that is bad first. Are you sure that the blower motor just didn't stop working? I would try hot-wiring it to the battery and see if it turns.

The blower motor works. The fan did come on after I pulled on the switch. Maybe a loose connection or short in the wiring. I think that it should get replaced though just in case.

Wow. What are the odds of that? Foss reunion on the ford-trucks web site. Indeed, a very small world. I say definately replace your fan switch since it seems to be acting flaky and then go from there. Funny thing is I had the exact same problem on a 1979 F-100 that I used to have several years ago. New fan switch fixed her right up. Now how's that for coincidence? (Twilight Zone music plays) Strange....
