Well the weather app lied. It said that 15" had fallen in Jeff City when we were in Nebraska. I get home to find 5 to 6 inches
I'm not complaining mind you. Today I worked remote and only went outside to take the dog out.

I got a little snow here in Clinton, TN but it rained ice down all day Saturday and I live in the middle of the pine tree woods. I have tree tops and big limbs down all over the yard to clean up later. 7 degrees right now at 4 am on Tuesday the 27th

Not much snow here but cold. Our coldest was -29 F. Wind chill must have been in the -40’s. We had a 12 hour power outage plus we had a furnace out (we have two) fortunately. House got down to 46 at the height of the difficulty.

This is the time of year I got into my time machine rant.

If I could build one thing it would be a time machine so I could go back in time at the time my idiot ancestors were at the bottom edge of Lake Michigan and were about to turn right. I'd come up behind them and kick them in the butt and tell them, "Go left!!!" Why in the world did those people turn north to settle in the coldest part of the country when there was almost two million square miles in the warmer southern half of the country? Unfortunately, I married descendant of another group of crazy Europeans that made the same stupid decision and her roots have grown too deep to uproot and move someplace warmer.

Always makes me wonder about modern immigrants. I know Detroit and Minneapolis as well as other areas have large immigrant populations from warm if not hot countries. I’ve asked a few when opportunities came up (uber drivers) it’s always they had a support group to help em. Maybe the crazy Europeans were the same, after crazy Olaf settled the others just followed?

I myself love winter but I get being in the Rocky Mountain West is not the same as the Midwest. We get cold temps but if there’s more than four days of cloud cover we start to wonder what’s going on.

Southeast Michigan here, its -2 rite now, prolly 10" of snow on the ground, every morning the pup and I go for coffee and donuts in town, then cruise the back roads til dawn, tother morning we saw -23 on the dash of our Bolt, been very windy here for 3-4 days, this moves the fluffy snow around a bit, calls for a bit of shoveling every morning, I live surrounded by state land, its very pretty to look at but not near as much fun as it usta be to play in.
NPR was telling me about the ice in the southern states taking out power, sad it tis.we loose power here too, usta be woodstove and candles/flashlights, we burn propane to run a genset now.
Nowa days I seek shelter from the wind....
