I have a 2015 6.7 powerstroke. It is stuck in limp mode. It had a P207f code. We did a forced regen, tried everything we can think of to reset it, but it won’t all out of limp. It only goes about 3mph tops. The DEF light is on, but the Def fluid is filled. The engine light was reset after the regen. Disconnected batteries, cleared all codes, did the turn off and wait, turn back on, etc. Dealership wants almost $10k to replace the DPF. Am I better off deleting it at this point?
Just about. Depends on your locale and specific situation.
As a last ditch to maybe save a few bucks you could take it out soak it in something and pressure wash it. Then when you reinstall make sure to run some fuel borne catalyst. <<< Never done this myself, but if I needed to I'd sure try. But if you don't know your mode of failure it could all be for nought. Common sense says too much crud built up from EGR.
