4x4 Not Working

Fixed my 4x4 on the 10th gen F150 4 years ago...
New parts for everything.
Both VACCUUM lines changed, those adapter pieces the lines fit in also changed as well as a new transfer case motor.

A couple days ago the 4X4 stopped working.
I never used it much for several months...
I had no clue that the 4x4 quit on me, I was switching gears trying to accelerate out of ice.
The 4x4 was working the day before.

I then switched briefly in reverse and I hear the worst grinding noise . I remember this noise yrs ago when the 4x4 also stopped working.
4X4 not able to activate. Struggled to get out of ice.

The first time the mechanic told me it was a VACCUUM leak from broken cables ....there's 4 yr old cables on there now...
What might be the problem?

Maybe the 4WD actuator stuck and not opening ?

There is a ton of info on these forums if you do a search... I had mine fail recently (last year) and ran into a problem with the 4x4 switching relay board up under the center of the dash. The solder joints on the PCB had cracked. Anyway, this particular problem wasn't really documented on here, so I did a write up on it. I'll find that for you and give you the link, and you can search these forums for more info... Actually a pretty simple system when you break it down to understand it...

The other common failure points are the vacuum actuator, lines, and the 4x4 engage vacuum relay on the passenger side firewall.

In case the transfer case motor is working and shifting
The vacuum canisters (2) that make the 4x4 and the EGR / HVAC work are buried under the RF wheel inner panel
One canister is part of the battery tray and the other is under the inner fender panel

I replaced all those parts 4 years ago...
With OEM .
Except the actuator it self (the one that looks like a suction sponge )...
