I have owned numerous Ford Explorers and now a 2018 F150. At my work I handle a fleet of of Explorers.
Has anyone noticed that when the Ford vehicles hit 180k’ish, that it pops that dreaded P0430 code? Do you think this is hard coded to pop the code when the vehicles get to a certain mileage, forcing the owner to have cats replaced?
I have to hope not, clear the code and see if it comes back. Now if you were continuously having all the service done at a particular Dealer, I'd scratch my head on that one.

That's crazy. My guess you had an additional issue going on, maybe some excessive oil burning??
It makes no sense. No excessive oil and no coolant leak. The blackstone oil analysis said the engine is perfect. Ford had their engineers look at my truck and they could find nothing wrong.
Do you use any fuel additives, or Marvel Mystery Oil? Do you buy your fuel from Top Tier stations that are well maintained to keep contamination out of the gasoline?
Although BP is no longer top tier gas,I would certainly use it as an alternative. That said, seems suspicious if it is your staple for gas during the whole duration of this truck. If you have the option, I'd consider switching for a year. Good luck!
no fuel additives...use 87 octaine with mt last 2 trucks from 2007 to 2018...6 months after my new 2018 F150 i started replacing cates each year ..then i started useing 92 octaine and CEL went off .. why ? but it work for me ...about $1 dollar per gal xtra
