If you don't plan on towing a gooseneck or 5th wheel, leave the prep off. It's just something else for stuff to get caught on when sliding stuff in and out of the bed.
If you have a bed mat or drop in liner, the prep package doesn't stick up......doesn't stick up much, if at all anyhow.

I have a line-x in my truck, but I also put a Bed Rug Impact mat in this truck. I have managed to cut and dent every truck bed I've had, so I thought I would try something new. The impact mat is a dense 3/4" foam with an anti skid surface. I really like it, but an added benefit is that it covers the gap between the tailgate and the bed with a mesh screen. Does the bed rug stay in place with the line-x? I like the idea of having one but don’t want to apply adhesives to the bedliner.
Sorry, adding a few more questions, should have called it "build questions"
I am in the process of getting my plans together for an ordered F-350 CCLB. At this time, I have no intention of buying a 5th wheel or gooseneck trailer. In fact, if the wife and I did get a trailer, it would probably be a bumper puller like an airstream. We also plan on putting a cap on the truck
1) Is there any reason at all I should get the 5th wheel prep? It seems that most of the F-350s are ordered with them, but I just don't see the use in it for my purpose. I plan on keeping this truck 10-15 years. Is there anything I am overlooking?
2) Also, I am looking for and not finding a cargo bed extender like I had on my 2011 CCSB This was very useful when I was needing a few extra feet or needed to put the gate down. Does this still exist?
3) any Recommendations on FX-4 package? Hill descent and skid plates would seem like a good idea, but honestly, this thing is never seeing "offroad" worse than a field that is being used as a parking lot at the state fair. Not planning on any off-roading, putting any brush guards on it (even though some are nice), or a winch.
4) Does anyone know of a water resistant (aka, submersible), trailer camera that works with the factory trailer camera system?
5) Line-x aftermarket or tough-bed factory
6) do I need the trailer TPMS add-on to use TPMS with a trailer, or can I supply my own (which my trailer currently has)
7) Does the vehicle come with trailer BSIS (blind spot system) automatically, or do I need to add one of the gooseneck/5th wheel versions. Not planning on having a 5th wheel, but I do pull a fairly hefty boat and a BSIS would be nice
Think that's it. Thanks
Thanks in advance all
Hi, mine did not come with the 5th wheel PUCK system. I did want it so i bought it from Ford accessories. It cost about $1800 said and done. It is much cheaper if you order it with the truck if you don't mind the extra cost. The big question is will you never ever want a 5th wheel or goose neck trailer?
As for the BSIS, I felt that was too expensive to add and I tow. I really have not seen a need as I know the end of my trailer and with the turn signal enabled camera system, I can see if anyone is in the way. Sure do love the camera system... except the cheap junk bed camera. Come on Ford...
My dealer had a very good sub do my bedliner. 2 years and no peeling at all. He did sand down the paint as it should be done.

I lost a bedrug out of the bed of my old F150 while driving down the freeway. It was installed per instructions and with the velcro attachments. Won't own another....

When I use the Bedrug mat only (only covers the floor, not the tailgate like the XLT version), I never put any type of adhesive or Velco and it never moved. The one in my current '26 was the XLT version, so it is one piece that covers the entire floor plus the tailgate (and covers the gap in between so crap doesn't fall in there). The only place I used the Velcro stuff (came with it) was on the tailgate, not in the bed.
thats interesting. I had a bedrug in 2 trucks without any spray in bed liner. I found the adhesive stuck well to the precleaned paint of the truck. Never had it come loose. I would probably not trust the velcro adhesive to stick to any spray in bed liner. I really liked the bedrug over a spray in bedliner myself.
