Hoping all these people here much smarter than me can tell me if im going down the right path. I bought a 2022 F250 Lariat about a year and a half ago. It has been great minus that every great once in a while the screen wouldn't turn on when I started the truck. This would only happen like once every few months and would last a day or 2. Then it would come back and be fine for weeks. I never thought much of it. Well about 3 weeks ago it seems to have taken its last breath and its been dark since. My batteries on the truck are new so I know it isn't a battery issue. The bluetooth still seems to function as it connects to my phone. Even if I pull up maps on my phone it seems to think it is displaying on the screen but of course I can't see it.
I believe it is a Sync 4 with the 12" screen from factory. Based on a lot of reading I have done it seems like the APIM is the issue but I am having a hard time finding one without taking the truck to the dealership. Last time I took it there for this issue it sat on their lot for over a week and they hadn't touched it so I picked it up since it was my only vehicle. I found one guy who said he can get me one and that it would be programmed for around $550. He said the only issue is it will never OTA updates as it won't be in Fords database. Would this be a concern?
Anyone have any better ideas? Im not sure if it is related but I can no longer use my front vents or feet vents as the button doesn't light up when you click it. All the other buttons works and the heat/ac work it just comes out near the windshield which is a pain. Anyways, thanks for the help.
Have you held down the power button and seek right button at the same time, holding down until the logo appears and then release? This does a soft reset.
Yeah I read about that and tried it. Unfortunately it didn't do anything for me and nothing ever appears on the screen. I didn't realize how much I depend on the reverse camera when hooking up trailers... lol. This no screen thing is killing me.
