Truck has set for 10 years I’m trying to free up the back wheels so I can get it on a trailer to transport it . I’ve dropped the driveshaft shaft to eliminate the transmission from the problem, there is a parking brake switch on the dash that I may have to get power to . Please another ideas other then the brake shoes might be froze up ???
If it has a parking brake "switch", it's likely air brakes (later: I forgot the LG system, see next post). I assume that on a system as new as '86, that system would require air pressure to release (30 lbs? 60 lbs?), so . . . yeah, manually cage the brakes in order to move it without air pressure.
Yellow **** for parking brake could be Lucas Girling hydraulic brakes. These are hydraulic over hydraulic boosted brakes, using a power steering like pump with electric backup. If the hydraulic pressure fails, springs in cans on the rear backing plates release and lock the rear brakes. They can be uncaged but you must be careful with that. Once you confirm what you have we can get a link on the "how to". The spring can take an eye out--actually both eyes and the rest of your head--if you fiddle with it incorrectly.
