Anyone have a good one to recommend? I'm looking at a used truck several hundred miles away. It won't work to fly out and look at and drive home. Just had gallbladder surgery. Carfax is good, price is cheaper than anything near me and that has me spooked. Would be hard enough to buy without seeing. I want to research as much as I can before making a decision. Any input is appreciated.
Depending on the year, the window sticker may be available through Ford still. If you run a search on these forums for 'window sticker lookup' you'll find the web address, then enter the VIN at the end.
Generally I won't buy a vehicle sight unseen unless the seller is willing to send a LOT of pictures and videos. Been burnt by that in the past and won't do it again. If I can't see it and drive it, I will walk.
If it's $15k less than a similar local truck, I'd run a KBB based on that ZIP code and see what it comes back at. If the KBB is close, it might be okay, but if the KBB is significantly higher, then that's a major red flag.
Maybe put a post on the regional forum where the truck is for sale and see if any forum members are local to it. You might find someone who is willing to go and put eyes on it for you.
