I use Zero Rust. It’s a DTM rust encapsulation paint. I clean the frame with a wire wheel in a grinder and drill. Wipe down with Acetone or a wax and grease remover. Good luck!
This is my idea of rust free. Heck the rust I had to repair on this wasn't even 5% as bad as that. Trust me I am not jealous. But good luck with your build. As far as frame and core support and inner fenders I used a semi gloss black paint. Firewall and under hood is body color.

My battery tray, and the inner fender was just lace. I had a piece of plywood bridging the holes and supporting the battery.
One of those that a wire wheel on a grinder would just erase.,,,
Jealous is such a harsh word, maybe envious would be a better word choice. Lots of folks have spent more money and bought trucks in worse condition.
For me, I have what I need, but I do "covet" this big blue ride a little. So if you find yourself getting bored, and want it out of the way, I will pay you double what you paid for it.
