I've been working on this for the last month and am not claiming that its in any way, shape, form a 'professional' paint job - but its undoubtedly plenty-good-enough for this 35 yr old girl. From white and grey primer replacement hood to... color matched candy-coat.
Having never painted anything automotive before, I gotta say that the process was both interesting & educational and the outcome surpassed my expectations for a amateur 'garage job'.
WOW, that looks pro to me.
Can you outline exact steps:
- sanding paper size, etc
- chemical cleaners, etc.
- polishing at the end?
- tools, air compressor vs spray bomb
- primers, etching, epoxy?
- temperature
My hood is factory Raven Black, need to do the same.
I hear black is hard to paint.
I know I'm asking a lot, but your process looks perfect for the home DIYer
