Headlights

I’m not a big fan of the dual low beam led reflector headlights on my 2023 lariat . Seems like everybody thinks I have my highbeams on because there’s four lights illuminated even with the low beams

Has anyone swapped anything in a single beam low beam projector? That’s not the OEM ones from the limited and platinum that work well and are plug-in play

That makes 2 of us. I hate the dark spot on the road between the bulbs as well.

I believe both AlphaRex & Morimoto are coming out with two great looking options in the next couple weeks. Even has an amber DRL option on both which I’m liking.

the morimotos have a more oem style DRL ring (but still has the amber option) and there seems to be fewer pics of theirs.

below is the alpharex which took a unique approach to the DRL. I think they look good and much better than the oem headlights with the chrome ring on the outisde edge etc. and the projectors are probably a good upgrade over the reflector.

I've had a few people flash their lights at me. Usually they are in low vehicles. Mine is just a stock Tremor F-350. Now, if they persist on flashing their lights, I give them an Xray! LOL! Then, they know for sure I'm not running with my high beams on.

I've been very pleased with the lighting of the LED reflector headlights in my truck.

Have you checked the alignment height of the lights against a wall? My 21 cme from factory aimed 2" high, I would get flashed thinking high beams were on with 4 lights.

Same truck. I also am very happy with the headlights. So much better than the halogens that I swapped out on several 2017-2022 models I had.

Same for me, I don’t think I’ve been flashed once. The LED projectors are the best lights I’ve had on a vehicle. I really like how they auto fade up to bright and down to dim.

I get an occasional flash but not very often. I think mine are the reflectors on the XLT Premium. I get flashed all the time with the LED projectors on my Hyundai Santa Cruz daily driver and I've even lowered the adjustment on those.

What's the proper way to check the alignment?

It will only help "knowledgeable" folk*, but if you keep your fog lights on, they will realize that they are low beams, since the fogs turn off on Hi.

*of course, that is probably about 5% of the population, and probably won't make any difference...
