The last vehicle I had the windows tinted on was my 2011 F350. I'd appreciate any insight/recommendations on what to do with my 2026 F350.
What kind of tints are best today? Carbon? Ceramic? I'm in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area of Texas...it gets pretty hot here in the summer.
Are there brand names that I should ask for?
In Texas, we're allowed a 25% VLT tint on the front driver and passenger windows. On the back driver and passenger and rear windows, there are no limitations. What is everyone doing for the back and rear windows?
I had ceramic put on mine. I have had my last two trucks done in ceramic and will take my future trucks and have them done the same way. It's a week one if not day one add-on for me. Can't stand the fishbowl.
Pardon the dirty truck.
If you really want to keep heat out of the truck make sure you tint over the rear and back windows as well. The spray on tint from the factory offers zero uv protection or heat rejection.
This has made the biggest difference for me and we get nearly as hot here in North MS as you guys do in Texas plus we also get the humidity and less wind.
Ceramic on everything here as well. 20% front, 35% over the factory tint on the rear and 70% on the windshield. Knocks the summer heat down quite a bit.
Many thanks to everyone for their input/insight. What about single-layer versus multi-layer ceramic? Anyone have any experience with both and can offer insight?

First I have heard of that. I will ask my tint guy. He's been in the business for decades and stays up to date on lots of tint related stuff.
I did ceramic on mine too. I did 33% on the front two doors. 5% on top of the factory tint on the rear. The windshield got 50% over The Whole thing with a 5% eyebrow tint as well.

Here is what my tint guy said when asked:
"Single layer ceramic (intro level ceramic) is what most shops offer as their “Premium” ceramic. Multi layer or Nano is the top of the line in performance window tint like Carbon and Ceramic. The Nano line is the only one I offer. I don’t believe in offering a good, better, or best because in the end my name goes out the door on what is installed so I built my reputation on installing the best film available."
Hope that helps. This guy is a legend in window tint. So full of info I like to pick his brain and just listen.

Very interesting information. Another layer of technology to research.
Technology is improving and ceramic was at the top when I last had tint installed. Everything has been improved from when we drove solar ovens with no AC.
Great info!! Thank you VERY much for reaching out to your guy and sharing the insights. Very much appreciated!!!
